As the US installs Donald Trump as its new president, a documentary about the controversial reality TV star-turned-politician will screen at Sundance. “Trumped: Inside The Greatest Political Upset of All Time” is behind-the-scenes look at the election of the 45th U.S. president. The documentary is a late addition to the festival’s documentary premieres program. Its screening was announced Jan. 9th. It is scheduled to premiere Friday Jan. 27 and includes an additional screening the following day. BEHIND THE CAMPAIGN The doc, which is not in competition, reportedly includes never-before-seen footage of candidate Trump throughout the whole 2016 presidential election, from the primaries through the debates to the dawning realization that the controversial billionaire would hold the highest office of the land. The documentary might prove interesting to Latinos as they overwhelmingly voted against the Republican candidate who attacked Mexican immigrants, promised to build a wall along its southern border, and criticized Mexico. Trump reportedly got just 18 percent of the Latino vote, the lowest level on record for any presidential candidate, according to the Washington Post. 3 PARTNERS “Trumped” is directed by Banks Tarver, Ted Bourne and Mary Robertson, all of them partners at the Left/Right, a New York-based television production company.
