The documentary "Sonita," a co-production by Germany, Iran and Switzerland about a teen Afgahn rapper, won two major prizes at the Sundance Film Fest 2016. The film received the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Documentary and the Audience Award: World Cinema Documentary. The documentary follows Sonita, an 18-year-old hip-hop artist who sings the story of Afghan women and their fate as child brides. But eventually, she herself faces the possibility of being married young for a price–her family plans to sell her to an unknown husband for $9,000. The film is among a few Sundance contenders that earned two prizes, including the American drama "The Birth of a Nation" and the Colombian drama "Between Land and Sea." –CESAR ARREDONDO
