Colombia's "Between Sea and Land" won a top prize at Sundance: the Audience Award: World Cinema Dramatic. It also received a special award for acting. Titled in Spanish as "La Ciénaga," it tells the story of Alberto, an ill man trapped in a body that does not obey him. He dreams of knowing the sea, but his condition prevents him from getting into the coastal waters just across the street from his home. The film is directed by Carlos del Castillo and was written by Manolo Cruz. Cruz, who also acts in the drama, and actress Vicky Hernández won a World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting. The film's cast also includes: Viviana Serna, Jorge Cao, Mile Vergara and Javier Sáenz.
