Argentina's 'Mi Amiga' wins screenwriting award

The Argentinian/Uruguayan croproduction "Mi Amiga del Parque" won a a World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Screenwriting. The film's screenwriters Ana Katz and Inés Bortagaray were not able to attend the awards ceremony but Katz made a statement via a video. Katz also plays a leading role in this movie about the friendship of two women with newborn children. In "Mi Amiga," Liz and Rosa daringly decide to leave a bar without paying the bill, an adventure that soons leads to danger. The film also stars Julieta Zylberberg, Maricel Álvarez, Mirella Pascual, Malena Figó, and Daniel Hendler. –CESAR ARREDONDO
