In the animated blockbuster penguin film “Happy Feet 2,” you can hear a voice saying “¡Sí se puede!”–like that, in español. That is actor Carlos Moreno Jr., who can repeat that phrase out loud in his very own life and maybe even with more conviction now that another of his dreams has become a reality: making it to Sundance with a film.

Carlos appears in “Frank & Lola,” a dramatic story about modern romance set in Las Vegas and Paris that includes love, obsession, sex, betrayal, revenge and the possibility of redemption. The actor has been to Sundance before, coming to network, support fellow friends with films at the fest and also have fun–he has been spotted showing his great dancing skills on the many dancefloors in Park City. But 2016 is the year that he can be seen on the big screen at the fest.
Premiering at Sundance 2016, the film is directed by Matthew M. Ross and starred by Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon (“Revolutionary Road,” “Boardwalk Empire”), Imogen Poots (“The Look of Love,” “28 Weeks Later”), Michael Nyqvist (“John Wick”), Justin Long (“Live Free or Die Hard”), Emmanuelle Devos (“Coco Before Chanel”) and Golden Globe nominee Rosanna Arquette (“Desperately Seeking Susan”). That’s an impressive cast.

This is not the first time the Texan-born, Los Angeles-residing actor works in major pictures along big Hollywood stars. His long list of credits include movies like “Interstellar,” "Transformers,” “Pacific Rim,” and “Man on Fire” and TV shows like “Major Crimes.”
