One of many festival venues in Park City.

This is just a reminder. If you're planning to submit a film to Sundance 2016, the deadline is around the corner.

The late submission deadline is Monday, Sept. 21 for U.S. and international short films. For U.S. and international feature films, the deadline is one week later, Monday, Sept. 28. And just to be clear, those dates are not postmark deadlines but the days when your film must be received by the festival, according to Sundance organizers. About 125 features and upto 80 shorts are selected each year to play in one of about a dozen categories including the following competitions: U.S. narrative features, U.S. documentary features, international narrative features, international documentary features, U.S. shorts, international shorts, world cinema dramatic features, and world cinema documentaries. Categories outside of competition include Park City at Midnight for horror films, New Frontier for experimental films and Premieres, world premieres from established filmmakers. One other category, Spotlight, does not accept submissions. It showcases films that have been shown at other fests. For fees, rules and more information, click Sundance 2016. –CESAR ARREDONDO
